LIVES ARE CHANGING
THE WORLD RIGHT NOW…
To describe what is going on in the world right now is a difficult task or it can be simplified to two words: bewildering change.
Every person I have spoken with over the past three weeks has described how they are feeling or what they are seeing in several ways: some are unsettled, numb or confused; some are angry and sad as they experience job loss and being forcibly disconnected; some are waiting for the real picture to emerge; whilst some are focused on what else they can do to get through to the other side successfully. There is another side.
Everyone is feeling something. Some are getting on with their lives and making the most of the situation, while some are in deep despair; and some are burying whatever is going on and making each day work.
What can we do? Of course, people are abiding by the Government’s directives. And you know that keeping in contact with family, neighbours and friends is important. What else? Really what else can you do?
MENTAL HEALTH WELLNESS
So many experts tell us that our mind is pivotal for our wellbeing. What are you doing to look after your mind? What are the positive things you can do daily to keep your mind positively active. If you are finding yourself glued to the television or social media, ask yourself is being glued helpful for your state of mind? What would happen if you did one big thing a day that will make a difference to your mind – positively? Now, some people may ask how on earth can they think anything positive in the current situation but what if you did? What would that feel like?
Are you staying connected with your loved ones? Reaching out by telephone, mobile or any other way that will keep you connected and send them love.
Talk to someone. Are you talking to yourself or talking with others? What are your conversations about? Are you working through issues, talking about your day, whatever it is, talk with someone about how you are feeling, your realistic solutions, your sense about the future of humanity – what brightness is there now and in the future when all this situation is over.
If you find yourself struggling, reach out and talk with someone.
If you find yourself coping well, who else can you help?
If you are confused, research for accurate information.
Around the world there are many organisations that can help people who want to talk about an issue that is affecting them right now. Reach out to these organisations.
And we can help too. Do you want the tools to help build your resilience so that you empower yourself for better outcomes in your life?
