Glen’s story
Where I am now started 26 years ago. I wanted to become a more self-reliant, confident, strong person, and the only way I thought this could happen at this time in my life was through martial arts, Karate.
I was a lot like many other people, not aware of what I was truly capable of…
I struggled moving through the different grading levels, most of the time second guessing myself, like I am not strong enough, not quick enough and I am too old for this. I did have these hangups through those years.
But I resolved to continue, and ‘tough it out’ even though I would come home battered and bruised. I did not really believe in myself, I put it down to ‘you just do not give in’, I was doing this the hard way.
Fast forward to 2015, I found and started my journey with Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP for short) and it surprised me that there were lots of people who have similar stories to me and you! We all want to find a better way, and NLP was the way for me and many others.
Like me they were survivors and like me they saw NLP as a way of improving their life, not for a month, a year – but for life!
They, like me were tired of living in the grey zone. When you are in the grey zone you know what to expect, life is okay but it is not great, I could handle this life but I wanted more! I knew somewhere deep inside that I was capable of so much more, just like everyone else knows inside… there is so much more they can do, to achieve in their lives.
NLP challenged me, challenged my limiting beliefs that I had been carrying around with me my entire life. NLP showed me what is possible, then gave me the necessary tools the ‘ know how’ to implement and act in a positive way to create my best future self.
Where I came up short in Karate? I believed it was my physical strength, my speed and toughness alone that would make me the person that I dreamed of becoming. Discovering NLP helped me to realise that I can always have full control of my emotions, thoughts and actions, and for me this is about living life to the fullest.
It does not matter if you are starting out or at the top of your game. Somewhere inside of you there is this voice saying, “I can be better, I can be the best in this life, in my work and yes even at play.”
NLP for me and many others is a game changer! And it can do the same for you!
Be your own super hero! You can realise your dreams. All you need to do is pick up the phone and call me….

Gina’s story
Over the past 30 years, I have worked with, coached, and mentored business leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists, parents, children, and teams across the world. People often ask me “What did you learn?”
Here are the three things that I learned and share widely:
- Focus on your goal
- Be clear on your beliefs
- Take action
Number 1 is about the goal. I learned from a young age through my own trial and error that when I planned the goal and focused on achieving the outcome, it was magic! But things sometimes got in the way. The ravages of farm life like floods, droughts and bushfires had a way of distracting us away from achieving a sustainable life. I watched my parents and the community re-build. Their focus was sharp and their beliefs about being successful were unwavering. What this taught me is that in our personal and professional lives we can choose to be swallowed up by challenges and sink or choose to work through the challenges and thrive. We chose the latter.
Growing my career and businesses, I have worked with many individuals and teams and coached them to achieve their goals. I found that every individual and every team member has something that clicks with their goal. Everyone is different and the finer distinctions of what makes a goal achievable for each person is something that I have researched and my findings have been integrated into all our coaching programs and trainings.
Number 2 is about our beliefs. What beliefs work for us or immobilise us? I was brought up to believe that hard work matters. So, I have always thrown myself into everything I do 100%. No complaints. No excuses. Believe that hard work will yield results. That’s what I was taught.
Beliefs can sabotage people too. I watched individuals retreat into their own ‘belief shell’ and they became stuck. I worked with business leaders to discover their belief systems that contributed to ongoing success and what I found informed a lot of our coaching and training classes.
Do you know what motivates you towards success every time? What would happen if you did – would that open the door to ongoing success? It does!
Number 3 is about ‘action’. People would say “take action”. Really! I learned that having ideas floating around in my head, not making realistic plans, and not putting those plans into action, meant I stood still. Nothing would happen. I took my ideas, created plans and brought the ideas to life. Was it easy? Not always.
I found early in life that there were critical keys to success which I refined and applied but not all the keys were there. I researched more and asked ‘action experts’ for help. I pursued excellence in every way I could because I want goals to come alive so that I can achieve my mission. There is no magic in goal achievement, it is about being clear on what you want and taking action. I have found that taking action has been particularly important as a Chair of a company board where we have set a clear strategy for the future. Focus, Beliefs and Action are non-negotiables for a sustainable world.
What do you want that is worth doing? If it is worth doing, isn’t it time to set the goal, believe in yourself and take action?
